ABOUT TheLymner's ARTWalk

AND HERE WE ARE, AGAIN! Many of you reading this page may well remember TheLymner's ARTWalk from a few years ago. We went by the way side after  four years because of time demands and the need for a full time income. As retirement from the IT world draws closer and closer on the horizon, I cannot bear the thought of not working eight to ten hours (or more) a day. Yes, NOT working. Thus I turn back to my strengths and loves, fine art and writing code.

In the new TheLymner's ARTWalk we return to providing a one stop site for all things pertaining to the easel and sculptural arts. This will present the user a means of finding those internet sites and services they need without having to shuffle through hundreds, if not thousands, of non-relevant links one finds on the standard search engine. For instance, if a user needs to find an on-line frame supplier, they simply go to Art Shopping, click on "Framing" and they will be directed to a set of links to Picture Frame dealers, ONLY. No house framers, no automobile frame straightening, no links to eyeglass frame distributors. Just picture frames. And amazingly all text links are free all of the time on TheLymner's ARTWalk. And, please, as you find new links, yourself, share by submitting them to TheLymner's ARTWalk.

On the Studio, Gallery, and Museum pages all links are organized geographically and then alphabetically (by artist first name on the Studio page). And as stated above, all text links are free. Graphical links are considered advertisements and are charged for as such, though quite reasonably in my opinion. For more information on advertising, click on the advertising page. To submit or suggest a link, click on the Submit Site link in the menu column of each page. TheLymner Publishing has sole discretion on which links are accepted and posted on the ARTWalk. The criteria for posting of a link are

  1. The web site deals primarily with the easel and sculptural arts, and  contains a representational number of graphical examples of those works.
  2. It need not  be a top domain site, that is "http://www.yourname.com", like other sites require.
  3. Studio sites must display the art of individual artists only. It cannot be a site shared with a group of other artists, such as a gallery web site.  Co-operative studios will be listed on the Gallery Walking page.
  4. While a degree of talent and seriousness about your work must be present, of course,  sites which are patently and purposefully offensive sexually, religiously, or politically will not be listed. And yes, I do have the right to decide whom is and is not listed, and shall exercise  that right and responsibility.
  5. All links are reviewed for appropriateness before and after posting.
  6. All links will be continuously monitored for activity and removed once they are no longer found on the internet.

As we move forward, TheLymner's ARTWalk will build a database of contemporary artist websites, allowing to readers search by medium, subject matter, fees and prices, books and videos published, studio locations, and so forth. If an artist is listed and does not wished to be databased, please, inform TheLymner Publishing and we shall respect your request.

Bi-monthly the ARTWalk will feature an art studio, gallery, and museum. During those two months the featured artist, gallery, and museum may post graphic advertisements for free. They may also submit and 2000-3000 word article and up to five graphics for an exclusive on-line article. If you wish to be considered for a featured spot on TheLymner's ARTWalk submit a request via the appropriate Submit site page.
